As our community prepares for the 2018-2019 school year, this brings heartache for those in need. Our residents and staff hope that this donation of school supplies will help brighten a family’s day and keep a child motivated to excel in their education. ​Dedra Brown is a PTA, physical therapy assistant. Dedra gained her education through Northeast Alabama Community College and Wallace State Community College. Her experience in therapy includes 10 years in an outpatient therapy setting and at Cloverdale where she has been for three years. Dedra enjoys spending time with her family and friends, outdoor activities, cooking, and thrift store shopping. Dedra’s work ethic/motto is “Work to make a difference.”

​Stacy Brown is a licensed social worker and fills the role of Director of Social Services at Cloverdale Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Stacy obtained her bachelor’s degree in social work from Jacksonville State University. Her past work experience includes Marshall Medical Centers and Department of Human Resources in Marshall County where she worked with child protective services. When Stacy was asked about her role as a social worker, she stated, “I am grateful for the role as a social worker here at Cloverdale. Social work has enabled me to advocate and help others in achieving a better quality of live. Helping others is very rewarding and has been a blessing that I have been able to work in a career of servitude in helping others.” Stacy enjoys genealogy, reading, nature, swimming/water sports, attending church, and spending time with family and friends. 

​Lauren Hawkins is a licensed occupational therapy assistant. Lauren completed her education at Wallace State Community College. Lauren has experience in the skilled nursing and pediatric outpatient setting. Lauren enjoys hiking, puzzles, running/exercise, spending time with her kids and family, and playing sports. Lauren has various mottos that she applies to work:
“Good, better, best. Never let it rest, til your good is better and your better is best.”-St. Jerome
“Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game.”-Babe Ruth
“It is what it is.”

We had a great time participating in our community's event, Jackson County Jubilee. There were great vendors, activities for children, book signing, BINGO, and so much more. We look forward to more fun events. 

​Justin Everett is a PTA, physical therapy assistant. Justin’s education includes Sylvania High School where he graduated in 2010, Northeast Alabama Community College for basic classes, and Wallace State Community College where he completed his degree of Associates in Applied Science in 2012. Justin has six years of work experience in skilled nursing facilities throughout Jackson and DeKalb counties. Justin’s interest and hobbies include spending time with his family, Alabama Football, playing and watching sports, classic rock and 80s music, and working with his patients. Justin’s work ethic/motto is “Work hard, play hard” and “You can’t always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you might find, you get what you need”-Rolling Stones. 

Cloverdale Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is excited to participate in our county's local event, Jackson County Jubilee. Representatives of our facility will be set up at a booth with information about the services we offer and available to answer any questions someone may have while enjoying this great community event. 
We will also be hosting a bingo game for seniors at our booth at the top of every hour, beginning at 9 am, with the last game at 1 pm. One winner will receive a prize at each game.

Being a nurse isn't just about giving medication and checking vital signs. It takes compassion to engage in a nursing career or to work in a nursing facility. 
When a resident said he'd like a rose bush he could see when he looked out his window, Miss Bridgette took it upon herself to purchase one. She planted this on her day off with someone for whom she cares.
We are all enjoying watching it grow, but nothing compares to the happiness she brought to our facility.
